MSV3 Rescuer Archetype

Students will be captivated by the Newberry Honor book All Thirteen: The Incredible Cave Rescue of the Thai Boys' Soccer Team. Then students will be matched to one of three rescue stories in book club:

• Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH,

• One Wrong Step, or
• Harriet Tubman.

Volume 4 unit is now in production!

MSV4 Survivor Archetype

The next unit for middle school will introduce the survivor archetype! All students will enjoy the classic story Call of the Wild, then be matched to one of three titles in book clubs:

• Island of the Blue Dolphins,
• The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, or
• The Incredible Journey.

Sarah is just getting started writing this one, but it is sure to be worth the wait! This unit will be available for pre-order in the fall!

Our company celebrates 15-years in business and we couldn't have done it without you! Thank you for being part of our  story.

From the beginning, our mission has always been to put quality materials in the hands of all students while also making teacher's lives easier. We continue to promote:

• using whole-texts novels and quality literature,
• increasing students' reading volume,
• providing explicit instruction that raises the standards, and
• teaching for transfer so students become confident,  life-long readers.

Company founder, Sarah Collinge, left the classroom to solve what she saw to be a curriculum problem. Middle-grade students were not being taught to read longer, more complex chapter books. Her CIA (collect-interpret-apply) approach has helped thousands of readers across the US deepen their understanding and enjoyment of literature!
